Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max UAE: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6

The Xiaomi 18 Pro UAE launch is not officially confirmed: Xiaomi unveiled the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max in China on September 23, 2026, and said they will reach global markets within 2026, but it has not announced a UAE price, a UAE release date or regional availability. What is confirmed is the hardware — a 6.4-inch and a 6.9-inch flagship, a 7,000mAh and an 8,500mAh battery, and one of Qualcomm’s two new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chips in each.

This guide separates what Xiaomi and Qualcomm have announced from what is still a report or an expectation. It covers the new chips, the differences between the Pro and the Pro Max, the camera, display, battery and likely gaming performance, and what UAE buyers can and cannot know yet. For context on how it fits the market, see DubaiPress’s Samsung vs Xiaomi comparison and the wider iPhone vs Samsung guide.

Key takeaways

  • The Xiaomi 18 Pro UAE price and release date are not officially confirmed. Xiaomi has not published UAE pricing, a UAE launch date or regional availability.
  • Xiaomi unveiled both phones in China on September 23, 2026, with prices from CNY 5,999 (Pro) and CNY 6,999 (Pro Max), and said they will reach global markets within 2026.
  • For any Xiaomi 18 Pro UAE buyer, the key chip fact is that the Xiaomi 18 Pro uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, while the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max uses the faster Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, according to Qualcomm’s confirmed device list as relayed by Tech Advisor.
  • The Pro Max adds a 6.9-inch display and an 8,500mAh battery over the Pro’s 6.4-inch screen and 7,000mAh battery; the 200MP Leica camera system is the same on both.

Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max in Dubai

Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max: What Has Been Announced?

Xiaomi launched the two phones in China on September 23, 2026, with orders opening in late September. At the launch event, the company said the 18 Pro series will reach global markets within 2026, which marks the Pro model’s return to international distribution for the first time since the Xiaomi 14 Pro, according to BigGo Finance. The company did not disclose specific markets, timelines or overseas pricing at that event.

A separate report from Ubergizmo says Xiaomi president Lu Weibing confirmed a global launch in November 2026 across Europe, the Americas and the Middle East, though no exact day was given. We have not found that statement on Xiaomi’s own channels, so treat the November timing as reported rather than confirmed. As of October 4, Xiaomi’s global website does not list either phone; it still shows the Xiaomi 17 line-up.

Pricing in China rose. The Xiaomi 18 Pro starts at CNY 5,999 (roughly US$840–$890, depending on the source’s exchange rate), which BigGo Finance reports is CNY 1,000, or about 20%, above the previous generation’s entry price of CNY 4,999. Lu Weibing also said memory costs have risen for more than eighteen months and are forecast to keep rising through 2027, according to the same report. That matters for UAE buyers, because any Xiaomi 18 Pro UAE price will start from a higher base than last year’s.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 vs Elite Extreme Gen 6

Qualcomm announced two chips on September 22, 2026: the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. The names are easy to confuse, and the headline “Xiaomi 18 Pro Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6” is only half the story, because the Pro Max uses the Extreme version. The chip maker’s own site, Qualcomm, is the place to watch for official product pages. The figures below are Qualcomm’s generation-on-generation claims as reported by Droid Life, not independent benchmark results.

The Extreme chip is also confirmed for the Honor Magic 9 Pro Max, the Motorola Signature 27 and the RedMagic 12 Pro, while the standard chip is confirmed for the OnePlus 16 and the iQOO 16, according to Tech Advisor. Both phones are described as built on a 2nm process, according to Gizchina and Fone Arena. One caution: at least one outlet (Fone Arena) lists the Extreme chip in both phones. Most sources, including Gizchina and The Mobile Indian, put the standard chip in the Pro, so that is what this guide uses; we will update it if Xiaomi clarifies.

Xiaomi 18 Pro vs Xiaomi 18 Pro Max: Key Differences

The two phones share a camera system, charging speed and software, and differ mainly in chip, size and battery. For a Xiaomi 18 Pro UAE shopper choosing between them, the decision comes down to screen size, battery life and how much extra performance matters. The table below uses the specifications reported at the China launch.

Gizchina also reports that the Pro Max adds an advanced cooling system. Xiaomi has not published detailed thermal figures that we could verify, so we treat the cooling as an expectation, not a measured advantage. Colours at launch were reported as black, white, purple and green, with transparent editions at higher prices.

Camera, Display, Battery and Gaming Features

Camera

Both phones carry a Leica-tuned triple rear camera, according to Fone Arena’s specification sheet: a 200MP main sensor (1/1.28-inch, f/1.67) with optical image stabilisation, a 200MP periscope telephoto at 75mm (f/2.4) with a 12cm telemacro mode, and a 50MP ultra-wide (f/2.4) with 5cm macro. The front camera is 50MP. The Mobile Indian lists a 50MP main camera instead; the majority of sources say 200MP, which we follow here.

Display

Both screens are LTPO OLED panels that adjust between 1Hz and 120Hz, with 4,000 nits peak brightness, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision support, according to Fone Arena. Both also carry a second screen on the back, which Gizchina says supports more than 100 application cards and AI wallpaper generation. Gizchina reports a hardware-level privacy feature for the display.

Battery and charging

The 7,000mAh Pro and 8,500mAh Pro Max both use silicon-carbon cells and support 100W wired and 50W wireless charging, plus 27W reverse charging. Ubergizmo notes that regulatory requirements in some international regions may require slight battery-capacity adjustments compared with the Chinese models, so UAE units could differ from the figures above. For a practical look at how battery capacity translates into everyday use, see our Samsung vs Redmi battery life comparison.

Gaming

No independent gaming benchmarks for either phone have been published yet, so what follows is an expectation, not a result. On paper, Qualcomm claims a 35% GPU gain for the standard chip and 44% for the Extreme chip over their predecessors, and the Pro Max pairs the faster chip with the bigger battery and the reported cooling. For Xiaomi 18 Pro UAE gamers, that makes the Pro Max the likelier choice for sustained mobile gaming, while the Pro should still handle current games comfortably. Real frame rates, heat and throttling will only be clear after independent reviews. For phones that are on sale in the UAE today, see DubaiPress’s guide to the best gaming phones.

Xiaomi 18 Pro UAE Price and Release Date

Not officially confirmed. Xiaomi has not announced a UAE launch date, local pricing or regional availability for the Xiaomi 18 Pro or the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, according to tbreak. The Xiaomi 18 Pro price UAE buyers will pay and the Xiaomi 18 Pro release date UAE are therefore both unconfirmed, and so is the price of the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max UAE version. The company follows a China-first pattern, with regional confirmations arriving separately.

What is known about the Xiaomi 18 Pro UAE launch is limited to this: Xiaomi has said the phones will go global within 2026; Ubergizmo reports November and names the Middle East among the regions, without a date; and the China launch prices are CNY 5,999 and CNY 6,999 for the entry configurations. Some third-party retailer pages titled “price in UAE” already appear in search results, but they are not official and we have not used them. Wait for Xiaomi, its UAE channels or an authorised retailer before treating any figure as real.

Should You Buy It or Wait?

If you want full UAE warranty and service, wait for the official Xiaomi 18 Pro UAE launch. Buying earlier means a grey-market import, which can be cheaper but may carry no local warranty; DubaiPress’s where to buy a phone in Dubai guide sets out the trade-offs, and for what Apple’s range costs locally, see the iPhone prices in the UAE guide. If you are deciding between a conventional flagship and a foldable instead, read our iPhone Fold vs Xiaomi 18 Fold comparison.

There is a price argument for not waiting too long. Lu Weibing has said memory costs are rising and recommended that anyone who needs an upgrade should buy sooner, according to BigGo Finance. But a recommendation made from China is not a UAE price, and with the UAE date unconfirmed there is nothing to rush for yet. A reasonable approach: if you want a smaller phone with a strong chip, watch for the Pro; if battery life and gaming matter, the Pro Max is the stronger pick; and in both cases, wait for the UAE price before deciding.
