Why prices came down

The UAE sets fuel prices every month under a pricing mechanism based on global fuel price movements, and the changes are passed on to the local market. November ends a run of increases. Khaleej Times notes this is the first cut after three straight months of rises, and the last fall came in July.

October was a steep month. Super 98 jumped from AED3.80 in September to AED4.40, as WAM announced at the end of September. Even after this cut, prices are still well above September levels, but remain below the July 2022 record, when Super 98 hit AED4.63 a litre.

What it means for drivers in Dubai

A cheaper tank helps monthly budgets, especially for families with more than one car. For a wider view of household spending, see our guide to the cost of living in Dubai. November also brings changes on the road, so check the new speed limits in Dubai before your next drive.

Prices for December will be announced at the end of November.
