Dubai New Year 2027 is the celebration on the night of Thursday, 31 December 2026, leading into Friday, 1 January 2027. This is an early planning guide for choosing a viewing area, comparing access options and preparing your journey. As of 10 October 2026, our review of official sources had not verified a complete 2027 fireworks programme, Burj Park ticket prices or the special road-closure and public-transport plan. Arrangements labelled 2026 below are historical context, not instructions for the coming celebration.
For context, the Security Industry Regulatory Agency’s announcement for New Year 2026 listed more than 48 fireworks displays across 40 locations. Those figures describe the celebration on 31 December 2025; they do not confirm the number of shows or viewing locations for Dubai New Year 2027.
Dubai New Year 2027 events and fireworks
For the countdown on 31 December 2025, Emaar announced fireworks, light shows, live performances and a parade in Downtown Dubai, with extended celebrations through 7 January 2026. That programme helps explain the range of entertainment the district has hosted, but it is not confirmation of a repeat programme for 2027.
At the time of our check, Emaar’s official New Year’s Eve website still described the celebration welcoming 2026. Check the event year before using its booking links or access instructions. The Burj Khalifa fireworks 2027 theme, performers, ticket prices and admission terms remain unverified in this guide; a November ticket-release date should not be treated as announced.
Global Village’s programme for welcoming 2026 included seven countdowns with fireworks and drone displays across the evening. Earlier shows can be useful for families with young children, but the 2027 timetable and admission policy need separate confirmation. For the venue’s wider visitor information, see our Global Village Season 31 guide.
Keep New Year’s Eve plans separate from the wider winter festival calendar. Our Dubai Shopping Festival guide covers the seasonal programme; an ordinary festival-night fireworks schedule should not be assumed to apply on 31 December 2026.
Best places to watch the fireworks
The right spot depends on how close you want to be, how much you want to spend and how long you are willing to wait. The table compares areas to investigate, using clearly dated examples from the previous celebration. It is not a confirmed 2027 venue list, and none of these options guarantees admission, an unobstructed view or smaller crowds.
| Viewing option | What to consider | Historical access reference | Planning note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Downtown public areas & Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard | Burj Khalifa viewing; the sightline depends on the designated area | Free (public viewing areas for 2026) | Check the new access map and arrival instructions |
| Burj Park | A dedicated Burj Khalifa viewing area in the 2026 programme | AED 950 + VAT (per adult for 2026; 2027 price unverified) | Check ticket, badge and child-admission terms |
| Dubai Creek Harbour, Al Seef & Dubai Festival City | Separate waterfront locations listed for 2026 | Check the specific venue (no 2027 price confirmed here) | Choose an exact viewing position, not just a district |
| JBR, Bluewaters & Palm Jumeirah | Different coastal viewpoints; check which display is visible | Public areas and paid venues (different entry rules) | Do not assume that one location overlooks every show |
| Global Village | Seven countdowns in the 2026 programme | The 2026 shows were included in the entry ticket | Check the new timetable and family-admission policy |
| Hatta & Al Marmoom | Outlying locations listed for the 2026 celebration | Venue-specific; 2027 arrangements unverified | Confirm transport and return options; crowds can still occur |
For Burj Park on 31 December 2025, Emaar’s access instructions required physical badges collected from 26 to 30 December 2025. Those collection dates have passed and are not deadlines for December 2026. If a new ticketed event is announced, check its own badge requirements, collection locations, age rules and final admission time before paying.
Before choosing a public beach or park, check the New Year’s Eve opening hours, designated viewing areas and any entry restrictions. Do not assume that ordinary opening hours, free access or previous family-only policies will apply to the coming celebration.

Road closures and public transport
Road closures and special Metro and Tram hours for the night of 31 December 2026 were not verified in our official-source review on 10 October 2026. Do not use last year’s closure times as a travel timetable. Prepare your route around the new RTA announcement when it becomes available:
- Check the confirmed closure map and the latest time you can reach your venue.
- Check which Metro stations and exits will be available for your arrival and return.
- Save the venue’s entrance location and any pedestrian route or badge instructions.
- Plan for a walk and a wait after midnight rather than relying on an immediate taxi pickup.
As a historical example, RTA’s New Year 2026 service announcement scheduled the Metro continuously from 5am on 31 December 2025 to 11:59pm on 1 January 2026, and the Tram from 6am on 31 December 2025 to 1am on 2 January 2026. These dates do not establish operating hours for the arrival of 2027.
Choose your arrival and return stations using the current event instructions. Financial Centre and Business Bay should not be assumed to be the designated alternatives for 2027 before RTA confirms the plan. Allow time for walking and queues after midnight, and save your route and booking details offline.
Restaurant and hotel viewing options
A reserved table may suit visitors who prefer an allocated space for the evening. Before paying for a Dubai New Year 2027 restaurant or hotel package, confirm that it is for 31 December 2026 and check the total price, including taxes, food, drinks and any minimum spend. Ask what is visible from your actual table, rather than relying on a photograph of the venue’s best view.
For a shortlist by cuisine, budget and neighbourhood, use our best restaurants in Dubai guide. If the setting is your priority, compare our Dubai rooftop restaurant options. These are general dining guides, not confirmations of New Year’s Eve packages or fireworks views; check the specific 31 December 2026 offer with each venue.
Before booking, check exactly what the package includes. Ask whether the view of the tower is direct or partial, whether the price is a minimum spend or a fixed menu, and how guests are expected to reach the venue once the surrounding roads close. Do not assume that a hotel or restaurant reservation allows a vehicle through a closed road; obtain the venue’s arrival instructions in advance.
Waterfront venues on Palm Jumeirah, Bluewaters and Dubai Marina offer alternative settings, as do yachts and dhow cruises. For a boat booking, ask the operator which display can be seen from the planned route, when boarding closes, and what happens if weather or navigation restrictions change the trip. Confirm the cancellation and refund terms before paying.

Safety rules and planning checklist
Follow instructions from police and event staff, stay within designated public areas and keep emergency routes clear. Dubai Police lists 999 for emergencies and 901 for non-emergency enquiries. Check the venue’s current rules before bringing drones, professional camera equipment, food or drinks; an old event’s rules are not a substitute for the new admission terms.
Use this checklist to prepare for Dubai New Year 2027:
- Book through the organiser or venue after checking the event date and refund terms
- Collect an access badge only if the new event’s terms require one, within its stated dates
- Choose an arrival time based on the confirmed venue and road-closure instructions
- Check the current RTA route, station restrictions and return-service hours
- Agree on a meeting point with your group in case phones lose signal
- Put your phone number on a wristband or note for young children
- Carry a light jacket and a charged power bank; check the venue’s drinking-water arrangements
- For a boat trip, confirm boarding, safety arrangements and cancellation terms with the operator
Before finalising your plans, recheck the year and date on every programme and booking page. A page labelled “New Year 2026” may refer to the night of 31 December 2025. For the celebration welcoming 2027, your booking should cover 31 December 2026, and your return journey may fall on 1 January 2027.
