Canadian rapper and singer Drake has achieved a new milestone in his career, becoming the first artist to hold the top three positions on the Billboard 200 albums chart at the same time.
His three newly released projects, Iceman, Habibti and Maid of Honour, entered the chart at numbers one, two and three respectively, giving Drake a historic sweep of the leading album positions. Billboard and Variety reported that no artist had previously achieved this result on the Billboard 200.
Iceman Debuts at Number One
Leading Drake’s three album release is Iceman, which opened at number one on the Billboard 200 with 463,000 equivalent album units. The debut gives Drake his 15th number one album, placing him ahead of Jay-Z for the most chart topping albums among solo male artists and among solo artists in the rhythm and blues and hiphop category.
The achievement also puts Drake level with Taylor Swift for the most number-one albums among solo acts, while The Beatles remain ahead with 19 chart-topping albums. Iceman also secured the second biggest sales week of 2026 so far, behind Arirang by South Korean group BTS, which opened with 641,000 equivalent album units. Among rhythm and blues and hip-hop releases, Iceman recorded the year’s largest weekly total.
Habibti and Maid of Honour Complete Historic Top Three Sweep
Drake’s success did not stop with Iceman. His second new album, Habibti, debuted at number two with 114,000 equivalent album units, while Maid of Honour entered the Billboard 200 at number three with 110,000 equivalent album units.
Together, the three projects gave Drake a rare level of chart dominance, with listeners driving all three new releases into the highest positions during the same tracking week.

Drake Surprised Fans With Triple Album Release
Fans had been expecting Iceman for some time, as Drake had teased the project for nearly two years. Promotional activity increased in July 2025, when the artist launched his Iceman livestream series and previewed unreleased material, including What Did I Miss? and Which One, featuring British rapper Central Cee.
However, the full scale of his release plan was not revealed until shortly before the albums arrived. During the fourth instalment of the livestream series, held on the eve of the release, Drake unexpectedly announced two more albums, Habibti and Maid of Honour. All three projects were then released simultaneously at midnight on May 15, 2026. The surprise strategy quickly turned into a major commercial success, placing Drake at the centre of the latest music chart conversation.
Drake Moves Ahead of Jay-Z in Number-One Albums
The performance of Iceman has also reshaped Drake’s position among the most successful album artists in Billboard history. With 15 number-one albums, he has now moved ahead of Jay-Z among solo male performers. He also remains one of the closest challengers to The Beatles’ long standing record. The achievement reinforces Drake’s influence in the streaming era, where he has repeatedly turned new releases into major chart events through high listening demand, broad audience reach and surprise-release strategies.
Other Albums in the Billboard 200 Top 10
Drake’s three-album takeover pushed several recent releases lower in the rankings. Noah Kahan’s album The Great Divide, which previously held the number one position, fell to number four. Ella Langley’s Dandelion followed at number five. Other albums remaining in the top 10 included Morgan Wallen’s I’m the Problem, Michael Jackson’s Thriller and Number Ones, as well as BTS’ Arirang.

Drake’s latest achievement adds another major record to a career already defined by chart success.
