UAE Eid Al Adha Sales Bring Discounts of Up to 50% as Retailers Prepare for Shopping Rush

Major hypermarkets and retailers across the UAE have launched Eid Al Adha sales with discounts reaching more than 50 per cent on selected household essentials, groceries and festive products. Retailers say they have also increased stocks and strengthened supply operations ahead of the holiday period, when families typically buy more food, gifts and hospitality items for gatherings and celebrations.

The shopping season is expected to gain further momentum as private-sector employees receive a four-day paid holiday from Tuesday, May 26, to Friday, May 29, 2026. For employees whose regular weekend falls on Saturday and Sunday, the break extends to six days.

The promotions are intended to support families preparing for Eid gatherings, when demand normally increases for fresh meat, poultry, fruits, vegetables and other products used in home meals and celebrations.

Union Coop has also said it works closely with suppliers throughout the year to maintain product availability during busy periods, including Eid Al Adha. The retailer expressed confidence that current supply-chain conditions will not affect the availability of goods during the season.

Sharjah Coop Expands Offers and Eid Services

Sharjah Coop has also introduced seasonal promotions covering hundreds of food and consumer products. Chief executive Majed Al Junaid said the cooperative has diversified its import sources and expanded its supply chains to help maintain price stability during the festive period.

The offers include everyday essentials and Eid-related products, alongside enhanced loyalty and rewards programmes aimed at helping households manage seasonal spending. Sharjah Coop has also widened its Eid services by allowing customers to book and arrange the preparation of sacrificial animals through certified suppliers.

Al Maya Offers Discounts Across Grocery and Household Categories

Al Maya Group has rolled out Eid promotions and curated seasonal collections across its outlets in the UAE. Kamal Vachani, partner, deputy chief executive and group director of Al Maya Group, said offers cover a wide range of shopping categories, including fresh fruits and vegetables, premium rice, cooking oil, frozen foods, dairy products, beverages, chocolates, dates, dry fruits, bakery goods and household essentials.

Al Adil Prepares Special Offers on Festive Essentials

Al Adil Trading has also launched Eid promotions on products commonly used in festive cooking and household preparations. According to chairman and managing director Dr Dhananjay Datar, the offers include rice, flour, pulses, spices, dry fruits, snacks, sweets, ready-to-cook products and other essentials associated with Eid meals.

He said customers can expect competitive discounts on selected products, with the available offers differing by category and brand. Dr Datar added that the company’s priority during the shopping period is not limited to lower prices, but also includes maintaining product quality, value and sufficient availability for customers.

Demand Rises for Meat, Groceries, Sweets and Gift Packs

Retailers across the UAE are expecting a clear increase in shopping activity during Eid Al Adha, as families prepare for gatherings, festive meals and gift exchanges. Fresh products are expected to be among the strongest-performing categories. Union Coop reported growing demand for meat, poultry, fruits and vegetables in the run-up to the holiday.

Al Maya Group also expects increased purchases of chocolates, dates, sweets, beverages, frozen foods, fresh produce, meat products and gift packs, particularly as hospitality and gifting remain important parts of Eid celebrations. At Al Adil, popular Eid purchases typically include rice, wheat flour, pulses, cooking oil, ghee, spices, nuts, vermicelli, sweets, snacks and convenient meal products. Premium dry fruits, gifting options and larger family packs are also expected to see stronger demand.

Retailers Increase Stocks Before Eid Shopping Peak

To handle the expected rise in demand, retailers say preparations began well before the start of the Eid holiday. Sharjah Coop said it has put in place a detailed operational plan to keep key products available and help maintain market stability during peak shopping days. Its preparations focus particularly on high-demand categories such as meat, poultry, fruits, vegetables, staple food products and hospitality items.

Al Maya Group has also strengthened sourcing and logistics operations, working with local and international suppliers to ensure its stores across the UAE can maintain inventory and replenish shelves throughout the holiday period. Meanwhile, Al Adil said its procurement and supply-chain teams planned early for the Eid season to ensure consistent availability of Indian food products and other festive essentials.

Eid Holiday Expected to Encourage More Shopping

The timing of the official holiday is expected to support higher customer activity across supermarkets and hypermarkets. Private-sector employees will receive a paid break from May 26 to May 29, while public-sector employees have a separately announced holiday schedule for Arafah Day and Eid Al Adha. With families preparing for several days of celebrations and gatherings, retailers are positioning their Eid campaigns around two main priorities: offering competitive prices and ensuring that popular products remain widely available.

For UAE shoppers, the combination of extended holiday time, seasonal promotions and expanded stock means the days before Eid Al Adha are expected to be among the busiest retail periods of the month.
